100 Princes Street Edinburgh

Red Carnation Hotels’ First Opening in Scotland

This is the story of a re-imagining; an exclusive address with an iconic, guest-welcoming heritage, which is set to transform the Edinburgh hotel scene.

A realization of the Tollman family’s dream to showcase everything exquisite about Edinburgh, and Red Carnation Hotels’ first opening in Scotland.

In celebration of the beautiful city of Edinburgh, the heritage of Scotland and the exclusive address of the former Overseas League, 100 Princes Street is inspired by the rich history of the many great Scottish explorers and adventurers who made this historic building their ‘home away from home’.

Led by the design team behind the iconic Ashford Castle in Ireland, Toni Tollman, Philippe Bonino and Brian Brennan, this restoration will look to protect and retain the original heart and soul of 100 Princes Street, restoring the original building and its iconic features.

Inspired by Alexander McQueen, the design team sought to create a sense of place, working with local artisans to create bespoke pieces including custom-made tartan designed by Araminta Campbell, and a central staircase which features a hand-painted mural by Croxford & Saunders, honouring the adventures of several great Scottish explorers.

Part of the family-run Red Carnation Hotel Collection and sister property to Hotel 41 in London, 100 Princes Street will focus on service, with an“anything, anytime” approach. The luxury hotel will have 30 guest rooms and suites, many with extraordinary views looking up towards Edinburgh Castle. The residents-only “Explorers’ Club” will immerse guests in a truly Scottish experience, with “whatever, whenever” service excellence, culturally inspired design and famous signature dishes.

Stand-out features will include a wine wall with over 200 fine wines, showcasing the range from the family-owned vineyard Bouchard Finlayson, and an incredible collection of acclaimed Scottish whiskies adorning one wall. Guests will be invited to select from a carefully curated menu with the world’s rarest libations, time-honoured classics, delicious cocktails, exclusively hand-crafted spirits and Scotland’s “liquid gold”, before retiring to the fireside as the panoramic windows frame the Castle.

But it will be the people that will define 100 Princes Street, offering a 2:1 staff ratio showcasing the best of local Edinburgh talent, defined by the Red Carnation art of hospitality.

100 Princes Street will start welcoming travelers from April 2022.
