Royalton opens its first Barbados resort with a new adult-only all-inclusive brand

Royalton Hotels & Resorts has opened its first property in Barbados, introducing a new brand concept aimed at adult travellers seeking a more immersive and culturally connected all-inclusive experience.

Royalton Vessence Barbados Adult-Oriented, An Autograph Collection All-Inclusive Resort welcomed its first guests on 1 June 2026, marking both the company’s debut on the island and the global launch of the Royalton Vessence brand.

The resort sits on Barbados’ Platinum Coast, close to the island’s premier luxury shopping and lifestyle district and approximately 30 minutes from Grantley Adams International Airport. The beachfront property offers 220 suites designed with natural textures, locally inspired materials, and cultural references drawn from Barbadian heritage.

Accommodation options range from oceanfront suites and swim-out categories to Diamond Club™ rooms with personalised butler service and exclusive access to dedicated resort spaces. At the top tier, Presidential and Chairman Suites are available for guests seeking additional privacy and a more elevated stay.

“The opening of Royalton Vessence Barbados represents one of the most meaningful milestones in our company’s evolution,” said Jordi Pelfort, President of Royalton Hotels & Resorts. “Barbados has long been one of the Caribbean’s most iconic destinations, recognised for its culture, character, and vibrant energy. Bringing our first property to the island gave us the opportunity to create something intentionally different, a resort designed not simply around where guests stay, but around how they experience the destination itself.”

The resort features 17 food and beverage outlets, including five specialty à la carte restaurants, four rooftop culinary venues, four bars, two casual grill concepts, a sports bar, and a café and pastry shop. Dining concepts include French restaurant Moi Aussi, Asian-inspired Kai, Hunter Steakhouse, and La Scala Italian Trattoria. Diamond Club™ guests have exclusive access to four rooftop venues with panoramic ocean views.

Ricardo Echeverri, Vice President of Owner & Franchise Services at Marriott International, said the resort reflects the individuality that defines the Autograph Collection brand. “This resort reflects the spirit of Barbados through thoughtfully curated experiences and a distinct sense of place, offering guests an all-inclusive stay that is truly exactly like nothing else,” he said.

Wellness facilities include The Royal Spa, which offers hydrotherapy rituals and immersive treatments, and Moddo Fitness by Royalton FIT. The resort also incorporates mindfulness spaces and digital detox areas as part of what the company describes as a slower, more present approach to resort hospitality.

Local culture sits at the centre of the Royalton Vessence concept. The Studio offers guests access to local artists, hands-on workshops in painting and pottery, live music, and rotating cultural programming. Art exhibitions and locally inspired augmented-reality installations are displayed across the property.

Royalton Vessence Barbados is part of Marriott Bonvoy, Marriott International’s travel rewards programme, allowing members to earn and redeem points across more than 10,000 properties worldwide.

The opening signals the start of what Royalton describes as a more intentional direction for its all-inclusive portfolio, with the Vessence brand positioning destination discovery as central to the guest experience rather than secondary to it.
