TUI accelerates hotel expansion in Asia: entering a growth phase towards 50+ hotels

TUI Group is continuing its strategic growth course and expanding its international hotel portfolio in Asia. With the first Robinson club resort in China and the signing of another TUI Blue hotel, the TUI Group is strengthening its presence in one of the world’s most dynamic travel markets.

At the same time, TUI Hotels & Resorts is preparing for the debut of the TUI Blue brand in Japan and the TUI Suneo brand in Vietnam. TUI Hotels & Resorts already comprises 24 hotels in China and Southeast Asia. With the newly signed projects, a total of 29 additional hotels will be added in the coming years.

“TUI is expanding in Asia. With more than 450 hotels worldwide. Our Hotels & Resorts segment, featuring brands such as RIU, Robinson and TUI Blue, is highly international, fast‑growing and profitable. Through our hotel expansion in Asia, we are deliberately targeting new customer groups, welcoming additional guests and reinforcing our independence from the European home markets, where economic momentum and growth have recently slowed.

The hotels in China and other Asian countries are designed to appeal to Asian, European and international guests alike. With the construction of the first Robinson club resort and the expansion of our TUI Blue portfolio, as well as projects in Japan and Vietnam, we are sending a clear signal of our long‑term commitment to Asia,” said Sebastian Ebel, CEO TUI Group.

The premium club brand Robinson will open its first resort in China in Meifan, in the heart of the Yangtze River Delta Green Demonstration Zone, a national project for sustainable development. The resort will be a new build covering an area of 160,000 sqm and will be part of an integrated sports and leisure district offering sailing and water sports.

The club will target both families and couples. The opening is planned for January 2029. “The demand for high-quality club holidays with a comprehensive range of sports is growing in China.

The club will be geared towards an international audience,” says Bernd Mäser, Co-CEO TUI Hotels & Resorts.

The project in the Yangtze Delta integrates ESG principles, water technology and renewable energies. TUI is the only non-Chinese tourism company to be a member of the Yangtze River Delta Green Demonstration Zone Developers Alliance.

At the same time, the lifestyle hotel brand TUI Blue is expanding its portfolio in China and Japan. TUI Blue Anji on the south-east coast of China, complements the existing offering in China, where the brand already has six hotels.

“With our first TUI Blue hotel in Japan, we are focusing on a current trend destination and a popular skiing region in the country. In Vietnam, we are creating an attractive offering for price-conscious international guests with the first TUI Suneo”, says Artur Gerber, Co-CEO TUI Hotels & Resorts.

The opening of the three new hotels are planned for the 2026 calendar year.

TUI Group had announced the opening of its second hotel in Cambodia: TUI Blue Angkor Grace in August. The opening follows the launch of TUI Blue Sihanoukville in May 2025.

Situated in Siem Reap, Cambodia’s second-largest city, TUI Blue Angkor Grace boasts a prime location near the iconic Angkor Wat temple complex and the Tonlé Sap Lake. It features 151 rooms. Focused on wellness, the hotel has different facilities to cater to various needs, including a hydrotherapy experience featuring a magnesium-rich pool, onsen and ice baths as well as traditional healing practices, offering rejuvenating scrubs and therapies.

Additionally, the Aum Yoga Studio offers daily classes in a peaceful setting, while the Amazing Grace Sound Healing Temple offers sound therapy sessions. There is also a Kids Wellness Center. The hotel has strong relationships with the local community in Siem Reap, for example, it collaborates with farmers to produce local ingredients for its culinary delights.
