Scott Gross at Hyatt Centric

Hyatt Centric Beale Street Memphis Welcomes New Director of Operations

Hyatt Centric Beale Street Memphis has appointed Scott Gross as the new director of operations.

In this role, Gross oversees all facets of the hotel’s day-to-day operations, overarching food and beverage programs, banquets and catering, as well as ensuring guest and associate satisfaction.

A seasoned Hyatt team member, Gross brings a wealth of management experience to his new position as director of operations. After earning his degree in hospitality from the University of New Hampshire in 2011, Gross traveled coast to coast developing his leadership and expertise. Gross began his professional journey as a rooms division corporate management trainee at the Hyatt Regency in Boston, eventually moving into the role of assistant rooms manager. From Boston, he flew out west and spent time at the Hyatt Regency Maui Resort & Spa and Hyatt Regency Sacramento where he held various executive and managerial positions. Prior to his move to Memphis, Gross served as the operations manager of Andaz Maui at Wailea Resort & Spa where he oversaw operations for banquets and events across the property’s 70,000 sq. feet of event and meeting space. With Hyatt Regency and Andaz brands firmly under his belt, Gross now joins a new division of the Hyatt brand with his first position within the Hyatt Centric portfolio.

“When the opportunity presented itself to swap luaus for Southern BBQ, I couldn’t say “yes” fast enough,” said Gross.

“I’m looking forward to diving into the dynamic Hyatt Centric brand, particularly in a city where its rich history, music and culture play an integral part of the hotel experience. Hyatt has fostered my love for hospitality and ignited the leader in me. The same way this company has contributed to my professional and personal development, I intend to play a part in catalyzing the continuous growth of the team at Hyatt Centric Beale Street Memphis for continued success.”

Located in the heart of the Home of the Blues, Hyatt Centric Beale Street Memphis is the only hotel with a Beale Street address, serving as a launchpad for savvy travelers seeking to explore the culture and nightlife that fills one of America’s most famous streets. Opened April 2021, the 227-room, full-service hotel boasts unparalleled views of the city and Mississippi River with upscale features including an expansive pool deck, private cabanas, and a modern lobby lounge serving well-crafted cocktails. The hotel is also home to Beck & Call, the city’s premier riverfront rooftop bar. Rounding out the hotel’s offerings, the property is home to CIMAS, a Latin-American inspired eatery with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the “M Bridge” and decor touches influenced by the area’s love for music. Promising shareworthy experiences, the hotel includes approximately 9,000 sq. ft. of unique meeting space created through the conversion of the historic William C. Ellis and Sons Ironworks and Machine Shop, originally constructed in 1879.
