Air Serbia and Turkish Airlines Boost Codeshare Agreement with New Canadian Destinations

Air Serbia and Turkish Airlines, the flag carriers of Serbia and Turkey respectively, have taken their partnership to new heights by expanding their codeshare agreement.

For the first time, Air Serbia has added its “JU” flight code to Turkish Airlines flights connecting Istanbul with three major Canadian cities: Toronto, Montreal, and Vancouver.

This significant move marks Air Serbia’s debut in the Canadian market, offering passengers more options to travel between Serbia and Canada. Tickets for these codeshare flights are now available for purchase on the airserbia.com website, with travel commencing from 19 September.

Ivana Miklja Mučalov, Manager International Affairs & Alliances at Air Serbia, expressed her enthusiasm about the collaboration. “Our partnership with Turkish Airlines continues to grow stronger. This latest expansion allows passengers to travel via Istanbul to three key Canadian cities. This service is particularly significant for the vast diaspora from the wider Balkan region and for those traveling to Canada for business or leisure.”

This expansion means that Air Serbia’s marketing code now covers 21 destinations within the Turkish Airlines network. Istanbul, Turkey’s bustling metropolis, serves as a major hub, offering multiple daily flights to Belgrade, operated by both airlines throughout the year.

The two airlines have a history of strengthening their codeshare ties. Earlier in April, Air Serbia marked its entry into the South American market by adding its “JU” code to Turkish Airlines flights to São Paulo. Additionally, the codes were extended to flights from Istanbul to Almaty and Abu Dhabi. In return, Turkish Airlines placed its “TK” code on Air Serbia’s flights to Ohrid, North Macedonia.
