A British Airways flight from Las Vegas to London has been forced to make an emergency landing in Montreal due to a bomb threat. Photographs taken from the airport show a dozen police cars racing to flight BA274, carrying 312 passengers, which made an emergency landing at Trudeau Airport in Dorval at 5.47am local time (10.47am GMT).
312 passengers and 16 crew members were evacuated from the flight, which left Las Vegas McCarran international airport at 9.30pm Pacific time on Tuesday and was due to arrive at Heathrow at 3.25pm on Wednesday.
According to Daily Mail, the son of two passengers on-board said they were told there was a ‘suspect device’ on the aircraft.
A spokesman for Montreal police said a Swat team and police dogs were set to search the plane to ensure “nothing dangerous or suspicious” was on board.
British Airways would not comment on reports of a bomb threat but confirmed the flight had been diverted.
