European Airports Go Green with Busnex’s Electric Apron Buses

In a move towards promoting sustainability, European airports and ground handling providers have eagerly adopted the fully electric apron buses, DINOBUS.

Introduced by Busnex, a renowned EU provider of eco-friendly public transportation solutions, these buses are now actively a part of real-life airport operations.

Giedrius Lelevicius, Business Development Manager at DINOBUS, shed light on this development: “As sustainability becomes the buzzword in the aviation sector and with the European Commission setting stringent environmental targets, it’s high time companies pivot to greener practices and technologies. The fervent reception of DINOBUS resonates with this sentiment, signaling the industry’s readiness for more environment-friendly operations.”

BGS, a front-runner in providing ground handling, aircraft fuelling, and logistics services, has already been operating a fleet of DINOBUS buses. The firm is exploring the feasibility of integrating this sustainable solution into its Ground Support Equipment (GSE) arsenal.

Gytis Gumuliauskas, BGS’s CEO, remarked, “Our on-ground experience with DINOBUS has been nothing short of impressive. We see these buses as potential game-changers for our fleet, offering both value and premium quality.”

DINOBUS stands apart in the market due to its superior quality, vast experience, and cost-effective offerings. These 14-meter buses boast a commendable range of up to 200 kilometres when fully charged, and can carry up to 120 passengers. Remarkably, they are built to operate efficiently in temperatures ranging from -30 to +40 degrees Celsius. The company also entices customers with optional battery warranty extensions and an impressive production time of just 7-9 months.

It’s notable that Busnex is a branch of the global aviation powerhouse, Avia Solutions Group. This parent company houses esteemed ground handling entities such as Nordic Dino, Aviator, and BGS. Their collective industry expertise has significantly shaped the evolution of the DINOBUS brand.
