According to local media reports, railway and airport ground service workers in Italy have announced a strike.
The strike will be carried out by major trade unions in the railway sector and is scheduled to last for 24 hours, starting on Thursday, July 13. It will impact high-speed trains connecting major cities, as well as intercity and regional trains, as stated by the state-run ANSA news agency.
Additionally, on Saturday, workers in airport ground services throughout the country will participate in an eight-hour strike, demanding a collective agreement.
These strikes are expected to have a significant impact on the transportation sector and travelers, particularly as the country braces for a heatwave, as mentioned by the agency. (AA)
