JAL signs up for Airbus A350 Virtual Procedure Trainer

On Sep 10, 2024, JAL became the first A350 operator globally to sign up with Airbus for the computer-based A350 Virtual Procedure Trainer (VPT). This state-of-the-art training tool offers a highly immersive and interactive environment for practising critical flight procedures and emergency scenarios.

JAL will initially train a group of 12 pilots on the A350 Virtual Procedure Trainer. This five-year initiative highlights the Japanese flag carrier’s commitment to safety and high operational standards.

The VPT developed by Airbus offers virtual environments designed to meet the airline’s specific requirements, making it an essential tool to enhance the proficiency and preparedness of the flight crew. With the VPT, training can be conducted at any time and location, which helps reduce disruptions and costs by minimising training expenses and aircraft downtime.
