Tulum, Mexico more accessible with new direct flights

JetBlue Launches New York – Tulum Flights

JetBlue has announced the launch of its New York – Tulum flights, marking a significant expansion in its service to Mexico. Starting today, tickets for daily nonstop flights from New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) to Felipe Carrillo Puerto Tulum International Airport (TQO) are on sale, with services beginning on June 13, 2024. This new route positions JetBlue as a key player in connecting travelers to the serene beauty and cultural richness of Tulum, the airline’s fourth destination in Mexico.

Tulum, nestled on the Caribbean coast in the Riviera Maya, is renowned for its tranquil beaches, commitment to eco-conscious living, and rich Mayan history. This destination has captivated travelers worldwide, offering a blend of relaxation and exploration. From health-centric resorts and retreats to captivating archaeological ruins and natural wonders like cenotes (natural sinkholes), Tulum promises an array of experiences for every traveler.

David Jehn, JetBlue’s vice president of network planning and airline partnerships, expressed excitement about this new venture. “With picturesque beaches and vibrant cultural heritage, Tulum has proven to be a destination in demand, blending ancient and modern in a country known for world-class hospitality,” he said. “With Tulum’s new international airport, we can bring our customers where they want to go, arriving and departing in a brand-new, modern, and convenient airport facility, while offering the great service and low fares JetBlue is known for.”

JetBlue will operate the Tulum route using its Airbus A320 aircraft, known for offering the most legroom in coach, fast, free, and unlimited broadband Fly-Fi, complimentary name-brand snacks and drinks, and seatback entertainment at every seat. These features underscore JetBlue’s commitment to providing a superior travel experience.

Since JetBlue’s inception of service to Mexico over 17 years ago with flights from New York’s JFK to Cancun, the airline has expanded its reach, connecting various U.S. cities to Cancun, Puerto Vallarta, and Los Cabos. With the addition of Tulum, JetBlue becomes the only airline to offer nonstop service from New York’s JFK to Tulum, further solidifying its presence in Mexico. This addition brings JetBlue’s peak daily flights from the United States to popular vacation destinations on both Mexico’s Pacific and Atlantic coasts to more than 15.
