Maldivian, the Maldives’ premier airline, has unveiled its latest venture: direct flights to Bengaluru, India.
Commencing on October 30th, 2023, this new addition will see two flights per week, specifically on Mondays and Thursdays. The airline’s Airbus A320 will be the chosen aircraft for this route.
The flight departing from Velana International Airport in Male is scheduled for 9:35, touching down in Bengaluru’s KIA at 12:15. Conversely, the return flight from Bengaluru takes off from KIA at 13:15, landing in Male at 14:50.
Strengthening Connections Between Maldives and Bengaluru
This strategic move aims to bridge the Maldives and Bengaluru, a pivotal city in India. As of August 16th, eager travelers can secure their tickets. The flight timings cater to both leisure seekers and business professionals, offering flexibility for both mid-week and weekend getaways. Moreover, Maldivian’s extensive domestic network, spanning 17 destinations, ensures seamless connections within the Maldives.
Maldivian’s expansion is a testament to its dedication to enhancing its network and offering diverse travel alternatives. The airline prides itself on delivering top-tier service and ensuring passenger comfort throughout their journey.
The airline’s commitment to catering to all travel segments is evident. Maldivian will provide 138 seats in economy class and an exclusive 14 in premium economy. Those opting for premium economy will be treated to complimentary lounge access at both departure points, Bengaluru and Male, coupled with superior onboard amenities.
On 9th October, Bengaluru’s Chancery Pavilion hotel was abuzz with the route’s launch event. Over 100 travel industry experts from India were in attendance.
Mohamed Mihad, Maldivian’s Managing Director, shared his insights during the event. He emphasized Bengaluru’s significance as a hub for luxury travel to the Maldives. “The Maldivian, with its unparalleled service and impeccable scheduling, is poised to boost tourism between India and the Maldives,” he remarked.
The event also saw participation from other notable figures, including Ibrahim Hamdhan, General Manager of Commercial at Maldivian, Mohamed Rishan, Manager of Route Development and Revenue Management, Nazeera Shihab from Commercial, Ajay Udeshi, Director of Passenger Sales, and Gita Menon, Regional Director for South India.
