Gulf Air Airbus A321neo aircraft lands Munich Airport

New Gulf Air Route: Bahrain to Munich Four Times a Week

With a water baptism, a traditional ribbon-cutting, and gingerbread hearts, Munich Airport welcomed the Bahrain-based airline Gulf Air. The airline will now fly regularly to the Bavarian aviation hub.

Gulf Air, the long-established national airline of the Kingdom of Bahrain founded in 1950, will operate flights from Bahrain to Munich four times a week. The flights will be on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays using a modern Airbus A321neo.

Flights will land in Munich at 6:35 a.m. and take off for Bahrain at 12:20 p.m. This new route offers a convenient option for travelers between the two regions.

Bahrain, as a vacation destination or stopover, offers a mix of tradition and modernity. The island state has a direct road link to Saudi Arabia via the King Fahd Causeway, a 25-km long bridge. For onward travelers, Bahrain International Airport provides connections to destinations like India, Singapore, Thailand, the Maldives, and China.

This new connection to Bahrain expands the range of flights between Munich and the Gulf States, which is crucial for Bavarian tourism. In 2023, Munich recorded around 400,000 overnight stays by guests from the Gulf region, up five percent from the previous year.
