Scoot Broadens Reach in Southeast Asia with Da Nang, Nha Trang and Kota Bharu

Scoot, the low-cost subsidiary of Singapore Airlines, has announced new flights from Changi Airport to three destinations in Southeast Asia – Da Nang and Nha Trang in Vietnam, and Kota Bharu in Malaysia.

Nha Trang in Vietnam will be connected to Changi for the first time, while Kota Bharu in Malaysia will be a reinstated link. Scoot will also be joining Singapore Airlines and Vietjet on the Singapore-Da Nang route.

Da Nang in central Vietnam is the gateway to Hoi An and the iconic Dragon Bridge. Flights to this popular destination will begin on 20 October 2025 on the Airbus A320 family aircraft. Services will start with three weekly flights before progressively increasing to daily flights by December 2025.

Nha Trang boasts vibrant nightlife, scenic offshore islands and beautiful diving sites. Scoot will fly to Nha Trang twice a week starting 21 November 2025 using the Embraer E190-E2 aircraft. Services will progressively increase to five times weekly by January 2026.

Kota Baru, the capital of the State of Kelantan on the east coast of Peninsula Malaysia, serves as a gateway to the Perhentian Islands that is well known for snorkelling and diving. Services to Kota Bharu by Scoot will start on 26 October 2025, with flights operating twice a week on the E190-E2 aircraft.

With the launch of these services, Scoot will operate 115 weekly flights to 12 cities in Malaysia and 44 weekly flights to five cities in Vietnam.

Other new flights

The carrier is also set to launch flights to Okinawa in Japan and Labuan Bajo in Indonesia, subject to regulatory approvals. Okinawa and Labuan Bajo are destinations that Jetstar Asia serves exclusively from Changi Airport. However, the carrier will cease operations on 31 July. There are also plans to fly to Medan, Indonesia.

Scoot also launched new direct flights between Singapore and Vienna on 3 June. This marks Scoot’s first foray into the Austrian market. There will be three weekly flights to Vienna using Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft, with a flight time of 13 hours and 10 minutes – Scoot’s longest non-stop route.

In the past few months, Scoot also launched three new flight services to Phu Quoc in Vietnam, Padang in Indonesia and Shantou in China.

Earlier in March, the airline announced plans to take delivery of 14 to 16 new aircraft.

Increased frequency to popular destinations

Beyond these new additions, Scoot is also adding more flight options to several popular destinations across Southeast Asia and Australia in anticipation of higher demand for air travel.

Sydney in Australia will also see more flights, from 10 to 14 a week, from July. Flights to Perth will increase progressively from 12 to 14 weekly from August.

Flights to Jakarta, Indonesia, will increase from 25 to 28 times weekly from July. From September, flights to Hat Yai in southern Thailand will increase from 10 to 11 times weekly. Flights to Koh Samui increased to 25 a week, up from 21, from 24 June.

Flights to Clark in The Philippines will increase from five to seven per week, starting in August. The coastal city of Davao will see 12 flights weekly from September, up from 10. Flights to Manila will increase from 13 to 14 weekly, also from September.

The expansion of routes comes after Scoot’s recently earned title as the World’s Best Long Haul Low-Cost Airline at the 2025 Skytrax awards.
