Star Alliance Opens New Lounge at Paris CBD

Star Alliance Unveils New Premium Lounge at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport

Star Alliance, recognized as the world’s leading airline alliance, has announced the inauguration of its second lounge at the esteemed Paris Charles de Gaulle airport.

Commencing October 13, the lounge will open its doors to First and Business Class passengers, Star Alliance Gold status customers, and eligible members of the United Club and Air Canada Maple Leaf Club.

Strategically situated airside post-immigration and security checks in the terminal’s latest section, the lounge boasts a vast yet cozy space, capable of hosting over 300 guests within its 1,300 square meter expanse. The design, a masterpiece by the renowned architecture firm Gensler, mirrors the elegance of the award-winning Star Alliance lounge in Los Angeles, crafted in 2013.

Star Alliance’s CEO, Theo Panagiotoulias, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “Star Alliance is synonymous with enhancing the travel experience for its member airline passengers. Airport lounges are pivotal in this endeavor. Our new Paris lounge is not just a treat for the senses but is also meticulously crafted to cater to the contemporary frequent flyer.”

The lounge, blessed with panoramic runway views, is adorned with a glass façade, amplifying the natural light and augmenting the spatial feel. The design seamlessly marries the modern-day traveler’s aspirations with an ambiance deeply rooted in the local essence of Paris.

A visual treat awaits guests, with the lounge echoing classic Parisian aesthetics. Wall mouldings, archways, mesmerizing monochrome photographs of the Eiffel Tower, and handpicked art pieces by French maestros encapsulate the quintessential French allure.

Among the lounge’s highlights are a beautifully crafted Welcome Bar, an immersive Wine Bar spotlighting wines from the South of France by master vintner Gerard Bertrand, and a Tea Salon presenting global tea varieties. Business travelers can find solace in private work cabins and discreet corners scattered across the lounge.

Christian Draeger, Star Alliance’s Vice President for Customer Experience, remarked, “Our Paris lounge elevates the number of Star Alliance branded lounges to seven globally, setting a new benchmark in airport lounge experiences. From design to F&B, every element has been thoughtfully curated, resonating with the vibrancy of Paris.”

The lounge promises diverse experiences. Guests can relax in the luminous Winter Garden, an expansive outdoor courtyard, or rejuvenate in the plush shower suites.

With two Star Alliance lounges now gracing Terminal 1, the first lounge, revamped in 2019, will cater to passengers on intra-Schengen flights and those from various lounge access programs.

Currently, 20 Star Alliance member airlines operate from Paris – CDG, providing 464 weekly departures to 34 global destinations.
