United Airlines has announced the resumption of its daily flight service from New York/Newark to Tel Aviv, marking a significant step in reinstating the crucial air link suspended last October.
The service, set to recommence with initial flights stopping in Munich, aims for a full resumption of daily nonstop flights starting March 6.
The decision to restart the route involved comprehensive safety evaluations, collaboration with security experts, and consultations with government officials from both the United States and Israel. This meticulous process ensured that United’s staff are equipped with the necessary protocols for a safe flying experience.
Starting with flights on March 2 and 4, which will briefly touch down in Munich, United is committed to ensuring a smooth transition back to direct service.
The airline has deliberately planned no departures on March 3 and 5 to fine-tune operations for the direct flights to Tel Aviv from March 6.
United’s proactive approach to safety and security involves ongoing assessments and adjustments to its flight schedule, responding to the dynamic situation in Tel Aviv.
The airline is also planning to introduce a second daily flight from Newark to Tel Aviv by May, contingent on the recovery of travel demand.
In addition to the New York/Newark – Tel Aviv route, United is considering the revival of services from San Francisco, Washington Dulles, and Chicago O’Hare to Tel Aviv starting this fall.
Travelers can now book their flights through United.com or the United app, with additional options available on partner airlines like Lufthansa.
