Canada’s most-preferred airline; WestJet will inaugurate a new seasonal route between Vancouver (YVR), Canada to Orlando International Airport (MCO). Canadian traffic ranks second in international markets after the United Kingdom with more 1.3 million passengers annually to Orlando International. WestJet not only opens the door for more travel and trade between Orlando and Canada’s most western province, it also will provide a new gateway with one-stop access to Asian markets connecting via Vancouver’s extensive Asian route network.
The new seasonal route between Vancouver and Orlando will launch in 2016. Prior to the Vancouver-MCO launch, WestJet will also start new seasonal weekly service from two additional Canadian cities – Kitchener and Charlottetown beginning in October and December 2015 respectively. This marks the first time ever for nonstop service to MCO from these Canadian cities.
