Wizz Air Abu Dhabi, the newest national airline of the United Arab Emirates, has recently received national carrier status from the UAE government subject to meeting regulatory standards prior to starting operations.
A joint-venture established between ADQ, one of the region’s largest holding companies, and Wizz Air Holdings Plc, has announced that the carrier will base two state-of-the-art brand new Airbus A321neo aircraft and start 6 highly anticipated routes from Abu Dhabi on 1 October 2020. Tickets are already on sale on wizzair.com and the airline’s mobile app with fares starting as low as AED 129.
Wizz Air Abu Dhabi said it is ready to fly from the Capital to Kutaisi, Odesa, Alexandria, Athens, Larnaca, and Yerevan.
The airline had initially planned to start with three aircraft but it later clarified that it intends to begin operations with six planes in its first six months. It will be flying to destinations across Europe, the Indian Subcontinent, Middle East and Africa.
