Celestyal Journey Sets Sail on Its Maiden Voyage with Stops in Greek and Turkish Ports

Celestyal Cruises’ new ship, Celestyal Journey, has embarked on its maiden voyage from Athens. The ship’s second stop was at the port of Kuşadası, where passengers disembarked to visit the ancient city of Ephesus.

The inaugural journey also attracted Turkish passengers eager to be part of the first sailing; they boarded the ship at Kuşadası to join the Idyllic Aegean program. After leaving Kuşadası, the ship is set to navigate to Santorini, Mykonos, and Milos. Celestyal Journey is scheduled to introduce a brand new 3-Continents Tour at the end of October.

Under the expert command of veteran maritime Captain Angelos Vassilakos, the ship set sail from Athens’ port city of Piraeus on September 2nd. Its 7-night Idyllic Aegean Tour includes stops at Thessaloniki, Kuşadası, Santorini, Mykonos, and Milos.

Celestyal Cruises CEO Chris Theophilides expressed his excitement about the maiden voyage, stating, “We are in an extremely exciting period as we continue our fleet investments. We ceremonially launched our new ship on September 2nd. The Journey represents a new beginning for our company, embodying our vision of offering a luxurious experience while maintaining a destination-focused corporate culture. With our warm hospitality, local expertise, and first-class ship, we are committed to satisfying both new and loyal guests through an experience-focused approach. Celestyal Journey symbolizes the investments we’ve made in our fleet, representing our continuity and future vision.”

To celebrate the launch of Celestyal Journey, the cruise line is continuing its campaign for free suite upgrades to showcase the premium balcony capacity onboard the ship.

This latest addition to the Celestyal fleet not only signifies an expansion in its cruising options but also solidifies the company’s commitment to offering luxurious and destination-focused experiences.
