Princess Cruises Unveils the Stunning New Sun Princess

Princess Cruises has officially received the Sun Princess, a brand-new ship platform crafted exclusively by Fincantieri for the Princess brand.

The 175,500-ton, 4,300-guest Sun Princess is the most impressive luxurious and stunning Love Boat ever created, offering an array of exciting new entertainment and activities, as well as sensational staterooms and suites across a broad spectrum of categories.

It boasts the highest number of balconies ever seen on a Princess ship, allowing passengers to enjoy breathtaking views of the Mediterranean and Caribbean seas from their own private spaces.

The ship is equipped with cutting-edge entertainment options, including The Dome, an awe-inspiring venue inspired by Santorini’s terraces, and the most advanced Princess Theater to date, known as the Arena!.

Sun Princess also features the Princess Casino, which surpasses all Royal Class ships in size, providing 50% more area and 30% more gaming machines. Highlighting over 200 modern slots and video poker machines, a variety of live table games with progressive jackpots, and the exclusive “Buffalo Zone” by Aristocrat, the Princess Casino offers a unique gaming experience at sea.

However, to ensure the highest quality of onboard experiences, additional technical adjustments are necessary, leading to the postponement of its inaugural journey. The Sun Princess will now embark on its maiden voyage from Rome on February 28, after canceling its initially scheduled departure on February 18.

Guests affected by the canceled February 18 voyage will be compensated with a full refund for their cruise fare and any pre-purchased onboard services. Additionally, they will receive a 50% future cruise credit (FCC), encouraging them to experience the magnificence of the Sun Princess at a later date*.

For those passengers who have already made travel arrangements, Princess Cruises is committed to offering financial support. This includes reimbursement for certain travel-related expenses and assistance with flight change fees, ensuring minimal disruption to their plans.

In a show of support for its partners, Princess Cruises is also safeguarding the commissions of travel agents, acknowledging their role in the cruise line’s success and ensuring their financial well-being amidst these changes.

*FCC must be booked by November 30, 2024 and sailed by December 31, 2025.
