Scenic Group Announces Exciting Upgrades and Expansions Across Its Luxury Cruises

Scenic Group, a leader in small-ship river and ocean cruising, is thrilled to announce a series of innovative updates and expansions for its prestigious brands, Scenic Luxury Cruises & Tours and Emerald Cruises. These changes reinforce the company’s commitment to enhancing the guest experience and pushing the boundaries of luxury cruising.

Emerald Cruises introduces the Emerald Kaia, a next-generation luxury ocean yacht designed to merge increased capacity with an intimate ambiance. Accommodating 128 guests, this new yacht features expanded Sky Decks, luxurious open-air lounges, and 10% larger cabins and suites. Enhanced dining venues, a reimagined gym, spa, and wellness facilities further ensure an unparalleled superyacht experience along the most captivating coastlines from the Mediterranean to the Seychelles.

Glen Moroney, Chairman and Founder of Scenic Group, expressed excitement about the launch of Emerald Kaia. “This expansion builds on the strengths of previous yachts like Emerald Sakara and Emerald Azzurra, allowing us to offer unmatched superyacht experiences,” Moroney stated. The yacht also features a sophisticated marina with added water sports offerings and a newly enhanced interior lounge.

Set to embark on its maiden voyage in April 2026, Emerald Kaia is now open for bookings. The yacht promises a series of new destinations and bespoke itineraries, enriching the cultural, explorative, and elegant offerings available through the 2024-2027 Cruise Planner provided by Emerald Cruises.

Scenic Group has also unveiled a significant design update across 18 of its luxury river cruise ships in Central Europe and France. This refresh includes new layouts, modern furniture, and innovative day-to-night features in lounge and dining areas, aligning with the sophisticated design of the group’s ultra-luxury Discovery Yachts.

Karen Moroney, Director of Project Design at Scenic Group, emphasized the integration of elegance and innovation characteristic of their ocean yachts into the river cruise ships. “This update is a testament to our commitment not just to luxury, but to leading sustainable and thoughtful design within the industry,” Moroney said, highlighting partnerships with designers like Missoni and Freifrau to incorporate sustainable elements into the ships’ designs.

Additionally, the Scenic Eclipse Discovery Yachts are undergoing significant enhancements. The Scenic Eclipse will receive updates including a new Senses Spa and improved outdoor dining venues, while Scenic Eclipse II welcomes the addition of a custom-designed submersible and state-of-the-art sea toys for unique underwater explorations.

Jason Flesher, Director of Discovery Operations at Scenic Group, shared details about the new submersible designed in collaboration with Triton Submarines. “Scenic Neptune II provides immersive underwater experiences with 360-degree views, allowing guests to feel at one with the ocean,” Flesher explained. This innovation underscores the brand’s dedication to offering unique and luxurious exploration opportunities.

As Scenic Group showcases these updates at Seatrade Cruise Global, it continues to strengthen its market presence and prepares for a future of growth. This week also marks Emerald Cruises’ 10th anniversary, celebrating a decade of excellence and innovation in luxury cruising. The refreshed brand identity of Emerald Cruises and continued investments in luxury travel set Scenic Group on a promising path for the future.
