Townsville is set to welcome its first luxury hotel, Ardo, which will feature Tropical North Queensland’s first and only rooftop infinity pool, offering breathtaking ocean views.
This under-construction luxury hotel is poised to redefine luxury with its sky-high pool perched 25m above the Coral Sea, providing stunning vistas extending out to Magnetic Island.
The rooftop infinity pool is designed to be the centerpiece of luxury at Ardo, surrounded by terracotta-hued sun loungers and adorned with green glass mosaic tiles, allowing guests to relish 180-degree ocean views from the sunlit rooftop with a cocktail in hand. The pool is anticipated to be the prime spot to witness North Queensland’s mesmerizing sunsets over the Coral Sea.
While the rooftop pool and its 48 surrounding daybeds are exclusive perks for hotel guests, the public can make bookings for Ardo’s Rooftop Bar, which will serve a range of expertly crafted cocktails and tapas-style eats. Additionally, the top floor will house a world-class steak and seafood restaurant, Marmor, open to the public, enhancing the culinary experience for visitors.
Michael Jones, CEO of Ardo and The Ville, expressed his excitement, stating that the rooftop infinity pool and bar will introduce a new dimension of luxury and relaxation in the tropics within this architecturally designed five-star resort. He emphasized that the hotel guests would experience unparalleled luxury while enjoying the views of the world’s largest and most celebrated reef system by the infinity pool.
The excitement surrounding the hotel’s launch is palpable, with the construction of the pool slated to be completed by the end of September. The $88 million hotel, designed by the renowned architecture firm Dubois, promises a harmonious blend of aesthetics and functionality, deepening guests’ connection with the surrounding environment and enhancing the poolside experience.
David Dubois, the founder of Dubois, praised Ardo as a symbol of architectural brilliance, with every design element meticulously considered to accentuate the uninterrupted ocean views and stunning sunsets. Ardo, with its 132 rooms and suites, all featuring private balconies or courtyards, is a significant addition to the Morris Group’s tourism portfolio, promising a haven of opulence and serenity for its guests.
