UKinbound, a leading travel trade association, announced the host cities of its 2022 Annual Convention.
Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire have been awarded. The winning bid was submitted by VisitAberdeenshire, with the convention set to take place on 28 and 29 September next year at Aberdeen’s P&J Live, the largest event complex in the north of Scotland.
It’s expected that over 200 businesses from across the UK’s diverse inbound tourism sector will attend, which will include tour operators and trade buyers from across the UK’s key international visitor markets.
Alongside an inspiring keynote speaker address, topical industry debates, and B2B workshops, the event schedule will also feature an evening networking dinner.
Working in collaboration with VisitAberdeenshire, UKinbound will coordinate a range of familiarisation trips for delegates, allowing them to experience the diverse tourism offering of not only the city but the surrounding Aberdeenshire region, while aiding the development of key relationships between buyers and local industry.
Joss Croft, CEO, UKinbound said: “We’re really please to announce Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire as the destination of our 2022 Annual Convention. VisitAberdeenshire presented an inspiring bid, and a real desire to work with the travel trade and the inbound tourism industry.
“Aberdeen is a bit of a hidden gem – offering that true Scottish experience of warm welcome, authentic tastes, and fantastic heritage and culture, mixed with awe inspiring landscapes. It will be a great chance to bring these to a new and influential audience.
“Together, I’m confident we will host an outstanding event, which will provide our delegates with a range of both commercial and networking opportunities.”
Chris Foy, CEO, VisitAberdeenshire said: “Hosting the UKinbound Annual Convention is a great opportunity for the North-east of Scotland to demonstrate its credentials as destination where the inbound travel trade can do business and delight its clients.
“We look forward to hosting delegates from across the UK, so they can experience the warm Scottish welcome that the region is known for.”
