Intersec 2024, the world’s leading trade fair for safety, security, and fire protection, was officially opened today at Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) under the theme ‘Innovating security tech for a quarter century’.

Marking its 25th anniversary, His Highness Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Ports and Border Security Council, inaugurated the event which will take place until 18 January 2024.

Spanning across 13 halls, Intersec 2024 is anticipated to be the largest in its history, showcasing a 20% increase in exhibitors from the previous year. Over 1,050 exhibitors from more than 60 nations are participating, highlighting the event’s significance as a key networking hub and a showcase for cutting-edge technology in Dubai.

During the prestigious opening tour, His Highness Sheikh Mansoor visited several exhibition stands, including notable companies like Microlink, SIRA, Axis Communications, Motorola, Genetec, Corodex, and NAFFCO, as well as the German Pavilion. Pedro Simoes, VS&A CVP, International Sales at Motorola Solutions, expressed his enthusiasm for returning to Intersec to showcase their latest security technologies and welcomed His Highness to their booth.

Grant Tuchten, Portfolio Director at Messe Frankfurt Middle East, the organizer of Intersec, commented on the event’s growth and importance. “For 25 years, Intersec has been the region’s premier networking hub for fire, safety, and security experts. This year’s largest edition signifies our expansion and our focus on innovation and digital security, uniting professionals worldwide to address the evolving needs of our industry,” he said.

The event also emphasizes the UAE Government’s commitment to pivotal industries, showcasing strong affiliations with key UAE government entities. The conference programs at Intersec 2024 kicked off with the exclusive Security Leaders’ Summit (ISLS), discussing trends in sustainable security and combating environmental crimes.

The Cyber Security Conference, hosted by the UAE Cybersecurity Council, began with a keynote speech on elevating national security through cybersecurity intelligence. This was followed by the Safety & Health Conference, which provided an update on the UAE Standard for Occupational Health and Safety Governance and Leadership. The Fire & Rescue Conference featured panel discussions on revolutionizing fire prevention with data analytics and technology and advancing safety in energy storage.

A highlight of Intersec 2024 is the Live Attack Zone, where forced-entry specialists like Frontier Pitts, A1 Fencing, ABUS, and NAFFCO are demonstrating the effectiveness of various physical security products. This demonstration, in partnership with the Loss Prevention Certification Board (LPCB), offers a real-time showcase of the latest in physical security.

The in{:cyber} pavilion is another focal point, where global cybersecurity vendors such as Amstergi, Seagate, and Zycoo are converging to display the latest innovations reshaping digital defense. The pavilion also features the Hack Arena, where participants exhibit their expertise in diverse cybersecurity domains. The Innovators Arena, focusing on the role of startups in cyber and national security, is a testament to the event’s commitment to fostering innovation in the industry.

Intersec 2024 encompasses five broad product sections: Commercial & Perimeter Security, Homeland Security & Policing, Fire & Rescue, Safety & Health, and Cyber Security. This segmentation offers tailored solutions for each industry segment, consolidating its position as a comprehensive platform for global security and safety professionals.

As Intersec 2024 continues on 17 and 18 January at the DWTC, it stands as a testament to the evolution and advancement of the security, safety, and fire protection industries over the past quarter-century.
