Indonesia is preparing to strengthen its position in Southeast Asia’s meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions sector with the launch of the first Indonesia Business Event Mart (IBEM) alongside the Southeast Asia Business Events Forum (SEABEF).
The twin events will take place from 28 to 31 July 2026 at the Jakarta International Convention Center. Organisers expect 250 buyers and 200 sellers to attend, bringing together destinations, venue hotels, and event solution providers from Indonesia and international markets.
The initiative is organised through a partnership between E&C Productions and TTG Events, with support from the Republic of Indonesia’s Ministry of Tourism. The organisers said the events aim to create new business opportunities while strengthening Jakarta’s appeal as a regional MICE destination.
Jakarta was selected as the host city due to its international air connectivity and role as Indonesia’s capital. The Jakarta International Convention Center is located about 45 minutes from Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, offering convenient access for regional and international delegates.
SEABEF will run alongside IBEM as a platform for industry discussions and knowledge sharing. Policymakers, associations, and business event leaders are expected to discuss trends, challenges, and opportunities shaping the future of Southeast Asia’s business events industry.
The co-location of the two events is designed to combine commercial networking with industry dialogue under one umbrella. Organisers said the format aims to provide delegates with stronger business returns through both insights and direct business matching opportunities.
A post-show island-hopping programme will also be organised for hosted buyers and media representatives. The tour, hosted by Dinas Pariwisata dan Kreatif Ekonomi DKI, will showcase Jakarta’s coastal attractions including Onrust Island and Macan Island.
The organisers said the programme will give delegates first-hand experience of Jakarta’s tourism offerings beyond the city centre, highlighting Indonesia’s heritage and natural attractions as part of its wider tourism promotion efforts.
