Renaissance Orlando new meeting space

Renaissance Orlando at SeaWorld adds 30,000 Square Feet of Meeting Space

Orlando will have brand-new meeting space in early 2019, as the Renaissance Orlando at SeaWorld® completes an expansion which involves 30,000 square feet of brand-new meeting and event space. The space is bookable now and will host its first group in January, 2019.

According to Bob Walsh, General Manager, “The Renaissance Orlando at SeaWorld® has a long-standing reputation for meetings and service excellence. As Orlando continues to grow in popularity for groups, and meetings continue to evolve, we are excited to be able to offer greater flexibility to our customers while accommodating larger groups more than ever before. This state-of-the-art new space will enable us to do just that in exciting and innovative ways.”

The expansion will increase the hotel’s current 185,000 square feet to over 215,000 square feet of flexible meeting and event space. The new building, which opens in January, will include the following features:

  • Peninsula Ballroom (16,500 square feet) with 22-foot ceilings and flexible rigging points.
  • 6 new breakout rooms at 1,350 square feet each with floor-to-ceiling windows offering landscaped views.
  • A new conference board room at 1,000 square feet.
  • Meeting planner office and dedicated registration desk.
  • Technology/networking spaces for participants to relax, recharge, and connect.
  • 8,000 square feet of pre-function space.
  • A buzzy outdoor social space for attendees to relax and brainstorm.

Embodying the Renaissance Hotels brand’s mantra of “Business Unusual,” the meeting space expansion will leverage the latest technology available to offer both planners and attendees the latest digital experiences including:

  • Multi-use LED Media Wall comprised of 9 separate screens that span 50 square feet which can be used for branding, group messaging, and conference information.
  • Fiber-optic audio/visual infrastructure supporting each meeting room, delivering faster, stronger, and more reliable bandwidth and connections since everything from presentations to attendee personal communications rely on laser-fast connectivity.
  • WiFi capabilities which can support up to 5,000 standard devices or 10,000 mbs of bandwidth in the new space.

With the completion of this expansion, the Renaissance Orlando at SeaWorld will boast the best rooms-to-space ratios of any hotel in Florida. Three distinctive ballrooms will offer the perfect combination of settings for meetings, exhibits, and special events of all kinds in one of the most popular meeting destinations in the US.

The interior design will be inspired by native Florida plants and the area’s unique ecosystem. The architects involved in the project are HKS and the interior designer is Looney and Associates.
