Tianguis Turístico México Kicked off in Mérida

The president of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, inaugurated the 45th edition of the Tianguis Turístico México that takes place in Mérida, capital of Yucatán.

Taking place November 16th – 19th, 2021, Tianguis Turistico is the most important event for the Mexican Tourism Industry.

Tourism Tianguis 2021 hosts 1,539 buyers, from 970 companies and from 42 nations. The buyers represent 95 percent of the total international tourists who visit Mexico.

Andrés Manuel López Obrador led the opening ceremony of the 45th edition of the Tianguis Turístico México in Mérida, with the Secretary of Tourism, Miguel Torruco Marqués, and the governor of Yucatán, Mauricio Vila Dosal.

Mr. Obrador states the importance of the Yucatan Peninsula that has an extraordinary archaeological wealth, the new and the old Mayan cities.

The head of federal Tourism announced that in 2021, Mexico is expected to welcome a total of 31 million international tourists that will contribute an economic income of 18.1 billion dollars, and an average annual hotel occupancy of 46 percent.
