German tour operator Alltours has reported a sharp increase in last-minute summer holiday bookings, with demand rising by double digits in June compared with May.
Bookings for Türkiye climbed by more than 50% over the same period, making it the strongest performer in the company’s summer range as travellers moved to secure trips closer to departure.
Alltours said Egypt, Greece and Spain also saw demand rise above average. The company pointed to high flight capacity and a wide choice of hotels in Türkiye, Egypt and Tunisia as a driver of late deals.
With many holidaymakers delaying decisions because of economic and political uncertainty, Alltours said the pace of late bookings had picked up as the summer season approached. The company said it expected a busier last-minute season than last year.
“Interest in holidays remains strong. That is why we expect a more active last-minute season than last year,” said Dennis Schrahe, Managing Director of Alltours.
Alltours said discounts of up to 45% were available, depending on the destination, hotel and travel dates. It said particularly attractive last-minute offers could be found in Türkiye, Egypt and Tunisia, where supply remains broad and competitive.
The company’s example prices showed a one-week all-inclusive holiday in Egypt, including flight, hotel and transfer, starting at 670 euros per person, while similar packages in Tunisia started at 733 euros per person.
Spain and Greece also continued to offer booking options, the company said, as demand stayed resilient across major Mediterranean destinations.
Alltours urged travellers looking for cheaper late deals to stay flexible over destination, hotel, departure airport and flight times. It also advised families travelling during school holidays to book early because availability fills quickly.
The booking surge comes as European travellers continue to look for value in established sun destinations, with operators trying to fill seats and rooms at short notice. Türkiye’s strong showing suggests the country remains one of the most in-demand options for summer holidays among German customers.
Travel industry groups have repeatedly said last-minute sales can become more important when consumers face uncertainty over prices and household budgets. Alltours’ figures indicate that pattern is continuing into the peak summer period, with Türkiye among the clearest beneficiaries.
