Luxury brands move in as Tersane Istanbul builds its hotel portfolio

Tersane Istanbul is strengthening its position as a luxury hospitality hub, with new hotel brands joining the redevelopment of the city’s historic shipyard district.

Following the opening of two hotels, the project is now preparing to welcome Delano, marking the brand’s first hotel in Türkiye.

The upcoming Delano property will join Rixos Tersane Istanbul and Aliée Istanbul, expanding the accommodation offering at the waterfront site. Together, the hotels signal a clear shift toward high-end travel experiences in a part of Istanbul traditionally associated with industry rather than leisure.

Delano prepares for its Türkiye debut

Delano is part of Accor’s luxury portfolio and is best known for its origins in Miami, where the brand first launched in 1947. It gained international recognition after a major redesign by Philippe Starck in 1995, becoming an icon of South Beach hospitality.

The brand has since expanded selectively, opening Maison Delano in Paris in an 18th-century mansion and more recently launching a beachfront resort at Bluewaters Dubai, close to Jumeirah Beach Residences and Dubai Marina. Its arrival at Tersane Istanbul marks another step in the brand’s global growth.

Building a luxury cluster on the waterfront

The addition of Delano will complement existing hotels on the site. Rixos Tersane Istanbul offers 402 rooms and suites, while Aliée Istanbul provides 122 suites across four buildings, catering to travellers seeking longer stays and more residential-style accommodation.

With international brands choosing Tersane Istanbul for flagship openings, the project is emerging as one of the most significant hotel developments in the city. As Istanbul continues to attract high-spending travellers, the historic docks are being reshaped into a new address for luxury stays.
