New Luxury Hotel on the Bosphorus by Turkish Airlines

Two of the most exquisite mansions on the Bosphorus, Hatice Sultan and Fehime Sultan Mansions, are set to open their doors as a luxury hotel.

Turkish Airlines Chairman of the Board, Ahmet Bolat, announced that the restoration of the mansions has been completed and the hotel will be opened soon.

These historic mansions in Ortaköy, which have been at the center of property disputes for years, were leased for 40 years in 2009 by Turkish Airlines’ catering company, DO&CO, with plans to transform them into a luxury boutique hotel.

In 2022, ownership of the mansions was transferred from Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) to the Treasury, further facilitating the project. These mansions, built by the renowned Balyan Family in the late 19th century during the reign of Sultan Abdulhamid II, are iconic structures along the Bosphorus shoreline.

Previously used for various public services and subjected to wear and tear over time, the mansions have undergone extensive restoration to offer a luxurious stay.

According to Bolat, these culturally and historically significant buildings will now provide diverse services ranging from accommodation and dining to meetings and events.

The hotel features a modern infrastructure, including a multi-level underground parking garage built below sea level, and will offer VIP guests the option to arrive by sea. Turkish Airlines aims to contribute to Istanbul’s tourism and cultural heritage with this ambitious project.

Here are the best hotels on the Bosphorus to stay today.
