Turkey’s Bodrum Sees 230 Euro Beach Fees This Summer

Holidaymakers heading to Turkey’s top resorts face sharply higher prices this summer, with some luxury venues switching from Turkish lira to euro pricing and charging premium rates for basic food and access.

In Bodrum, one of the country’s best-known coastal destinations, a single beach entry at one hotel has reached 230 euros, while some restaurants are charging 42 euros for a hamburger and 30 euros for one lahmacun, a traditional flatbread dish.

Hotel rates are also rising fast. Reports cited room prices in the district starting at 10,000 Turkish lira a night, while ultra-luxury stays are reaching about 100,000 lira per night.

The pricing changes have appeared ahead of the Kurban Bayram holiday period, when resorts typically prepare for one of the busiest travel peaks of the year. The move has drawn attention because it affects not only accommodation but also everyday spending for visitors wanting to eat or spend time at the beach.

According to the local media, some high-end businesses say they have made the switch to euro pricing because of rising costs. That means travellers may need to calculate their spending in foreign currency even for simple meals, drinks or entrance fees.

Tourism operators in the area said the most expensive rates apply only to a limited number of “segment” venues, and that Bodrum still offers options for different budgets. They said there are still restaurants and accommodation providers aimed at local tourists and travellers looking for lower prices.

The latest price lists underline a wider issue for summer travel in Turkey, where strong demand in popular resorts can push rates well above national averages. For visitors, the most visible change is that a beach day or casual lunch in some parts of Bodrum now comes with a luxury price tag.
