Enterprise CarShare Partnering with University of Delaware to Provide On-Campus On-Demand Transportation Solution

Enterprise CarShare is partnering with the University of Delaware (UD) to provide students, faculty and staff with an on-campus, on-demand transportation solution.

A service of Enterprise Rent-A-Car, Enterprise CarShare offers an affordable and convenient way to rent a vehicle by the hour, the day, or overnight.

In the U.S., Enterprise CarShare serves more than 125 university campuses and hundreds of businesses and government agencies in more than 35 states. Major cities served include Atlanta, Hoboken, Honolulu, Houston, Louisville, New York, Philadelphia, St. Louis and Tampa – all supported by the Enterprise Rent-A-Car network, which has more than 5,800 offices – one located within 15 miles of 90 percent of the U.S. population.

“Many UD students and community members don’t have access to a car to take them where they need to go,” said Richard Rind, UD’s Director of Auxiliary Services. “We’re excited to have Enterprise CarShare on campus, allowing anyone who needs to easily rent a car for a few hours to do so.”

UD students, faculty and staff can now access a CarShare vehicle from one of several convenient locations, including Thomas McKean Hall, Pearson Hall, Morris Library or Christiana Towers. In addition, a CarShare vehicle will also be available at Trabant University Center and Allison Hall after the new year.

Enterprise’s user-friendly technology allows renters to reserve vehicles 24/7, and the low hourly and daily rates include gas, insurance and 200 miles per day. To celebrate the launch of this partnership, Enterprise is waiving the application fee and the first year’s membership fee for all new UD members. In addition, new UD members will receive $10 in driving credits and $5/hour rates until February 28, 2019.

Program membership is open to students, faculty and staff ages 18 and up. To enroll, applicants must register online and provide a valid University of Delaware email address. After receiving a membership card in the mail, members can rent a vehicle by following four easy steps. And, with the Enterprise CarShare app for iPhone and Android users, U.S. members can make or modify reservations, extend rentals and choose pickup locations, all from their mobile device.

“We offer a unique transportation option to UD students, faculty and staff – when and where they need it,” said Kyle Sabie, Corporate Rental Manager overseeing Enterprise CarShare. “We look forward to working with our partners at the University of Delaware and continuing to evolve the program to serve their needs.”
