Visit Maldives Corporation (VMC) has officially launched a new corporate logo, marking a refreshed phase in the visual identity of the Maldives’ national tourism board.
The logo draws from the island nation’s natural elements—featuring design inspirations from Maldivian birds, marine life, and tropical flora—aiming to reinforce the brand’s connection to its environment and culture.
The updated identity became effective on August 31, 2025, and will be used across all of VMC’s official communications, digital platforms, and branded materials. The rebranding follows the recent renaming of the organization from Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) to Visit Maldives Corporation Limited, as declared by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu on July 14, 2025.
Visual Identity Reflects National Heritage
The new corporate logo introduces modernized elements inspired by the skies, seas, and tropics of the Maldives. Alongside the main version, monochromatic and vector variations have been developed to ensure the logo adapts to a wide range of media and usage requirements. These additions aim to preserve consistency and visual integrity across all platforms.
According to VMC, the design aims to better represent the Maldives as a global travel destination while preserving the authenticity and natural beauty that define the islands. The rebranding initiative is intended to enhance recognizability in both print and digital marketing, particularly in high-visibility placements such as outdoor advertising.
Destination Brand Identity Also Updated
Earlier in July, VMC rolled out updates to the “Visit Maldives” destination brand, introducing subtle enhancements to its existing logo. These included refined color tones and a more prominent logotype designed to improve readability and brand recall. While maintaining the essence of the familiar design, the updates are part of a broader effort to strengthen the Maldives’ tourism image globally.
The corporate and destination branding updates reflect a unified approach to evolving the country’s tourism marketing strategy. The logo refresh aligns with the organization’s ongoing mission to increase global engagement while showcasing the Maldives’ unique appeal as a premier island destination.
The new logo became fully operational across all official channels on August 31. VMC plans to implement the design across all public-facing touchpoints, including promotional materials, international travel fairs, and government-led tourism campaigns. By ensuring visual cohesion, the organization aims to reinforce trust and recognition among both trade partners and travelers.
More information on the new logo and brand strategy can be found through official Visit Maldives Corporation channels and upcoming press releases.
