New vending machine at MCO

Orlando International Airport Adds More Retail Options

As air travel buoys back with approximately 20,000 departing passengers a day at Orlando International Airport (MCO), a number of amenities have been added.

The new additions include a selection of new vending machines to increase passenger retail shopping options and enhanced, automated hand sanitizer stations throughout the terminal.

The vending machines, which allow the traveling public a chance to purchase must-have items without face-to-face interaction, feature all-new products making their debut at Orlando International. In total, eight machines were placed throughout the four airsides. Machines carry a mix of brands like LEGO kits, Kylie Cosmetics, Kylie Skin, and Sound & Mobile items like headphones, cables and adapters.

“Updating the type of products the traveling public can purchase at Orlando International improves customer service and the overall experience at our world-class airport,” said Phil Brown, Chief Executive Officer of the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority.

“Beyond that, it was also crucial for us to create a retail experience that reduces human interaction as we continue to combat the Coronavirus.”

In addition to new vending machines, two new Service Animal Relief Areas are being added at the airport. Once finished, these facilities will mean there are relief areas in every airside, giving passengers post-security facilities for their service animals.

The first post-security areas were opened in 2019 in airsides 1 and 2.

“We were pleased with the positive response we received when we opened the first two relief areas last year,” said Gary Hunt, GOAA’s Director of Maintenance. “We had always planned to build two more at the other airsides, offering an animal-friendly experience for all passengers.”

In 2019, Orlando International Airport (MCO) was the busiest airport in Florida and the 10th busiest in the U.S. with more than 50 million annual passengers.
