Fundación Palace, Palace Resorts’ philanthropic institution, announced its eighth annual charity golf tournament. Featuring rising Mexican golfer, Alvaro Ortiz, the tournament will take place at Moon Spa & Golf Club October 29–31, 2021.
Participants will play on Moon Palace Cancun’s Jack Nicklaus Signature golf course. located on the idyllic shores of Cancun in the Mexican Caribbean.
For eight consecutive years, this event has brought together international golfers to enjoy a few days of golf to benefit Fundación Palace’s initiatives. Proceeds from the tournament will also help support the foundation’s existing programs, including mental health development, education, environmental initiatives, and social programs benefiting children, teens, adults and seniors from Quintana Roo, Yucatán and Baja California.

Registration Categories:
- 5,900 pesos per player for the “For the Pleasure of Winning” category (twosome)
- 4,900 pesos per player for the “For the Pleasure of Helping” category (foursome)
The “For the Pleasure of Winning” category will be a round of 18 holes on the Jungle and Dunes courses, and the “For the Pleasure of Helping” will be a round of nine holes on the Lagos course. Prizes are awarded for players placing first, second and third. Prizes are also given for best “Hole in One,” and other categories. Players will enjoy preferential rates at Moon Palace Cancun, which include access to all the facilities Moon Palace The Grand – Cancun has to offer.
Players registering before September 15 receive a player kit with green fee, golf clinic, welcome dinner with Álvaro Ortiz and pro players, group photo, awards meal, raffles, prizes, an exclusive closing party and a day pass to enjoy the facilities at Moon Palace The Grand – Cancun.
Tournament activities begin Friday, October 29, 2021, with a golf clinic with Álvaro Ortiz, followed by the traditional welcome dinner at Moon Palace Cancun. The “For the Pleasure of Winning” round begins Saturday, October 30, at 7:50 am, and the “For the Pleasure of Helping” round begins at 8:05 am, followed by food, awards and an exclusive closing party. On Sunday, October 31, interested players may play with the professionals for an additional fee.
Álvaro Ortiz graduated from the University of Arkansas, where he caught the attention of the golf world by winning the Latin American Amateur Championship 2019. This year, when competitions resumed, he won the 2021 Mexico Open, ranking in the top five in the PGA TOUR Latinoamérica.
