The 2022/23 English Premier League kicks off on the 5th of August. Last year’s competition came to the wire as Man City just beat out Liverpool.
This EPL season is set to be even more exciting as many of the big teams have spent big on new talent. Let’s look at which teams have the best shot at winning the title based on the latest soccer betting markets!
1. Manchester City
It is no surprise that Manchester City is the favorite to win the 2022/23 EPL title. They are the reigning champions and have most of their returning starting squad back for another campaign.
They also managed to sign wonderkid Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund. The Norwegian striker scored nearly a goal a game in the Bundesliga and is expected to score a lot of goals in his first season in the EPL. Man City also picked up talented defensive midfielder Kalvin Phillips. It would take a brave man or woman to bet against Man City.
2. Liverpool
Liverpool was oh so close last year to winning the title. The final standings were Liverpool, 92 points, and Man City, 93 points. If they had just won one more game in the season, they would be champions.
Due to their fantastic form last year, they are clearly the second-best team in the English Premier League. They are coached by Jurgen Klopp, who has established himself as a truly gifted manager. We expect him to once again lead Liverpool to a very successful season. Unfortunately, they have lost one of their best players, Sadio Mane, who signed for Bayern Munich. Without Mane, we don’t think they will have enough offensive capabilities to beat Man City.
3. Tottenham
Even though the EPL is known for being a highly competitive league, Liverpool and Man City are considerably better than their nearest rivals Tottenham. It would be a major upset if Tottenham managed to win the league.
Last year Tottenham was a whopping 22 points behind Man City, and while their squad has improved from last season, they still lack the talent to compete with Liverpool and Man City. However, don’t count out the North London team just yet. They are led by Harry Kane and Son Heung-min, who are two of the most elite strikers in the English Premier League!
