The 10th annual World Golf Awards Gala Ceremony, held in Abu Dhabi, celebrated the pinnacle of golf tourism by announcing the best golf organizations of 2023.
This prestigious event, known for recognizing and rewarding excellence in golf tourism, unveiled this year’s winners in a grand setting.
Australian golfing icon and designer, Greg Norman, received the accolade of ‘Golf Course Designer of the Year’. Meanwhile, the Serapong Course at Singapore’s Sentosa Golf Club clinched the title of ‘World’s Best Golf Course’, marking a significant achievement for the club.
Portugal, with its sun-drenched golf courses, was lauded as the ‘World’s Best Golf Destination’. Further cementing its position in the golfing world, The Algarve’s Quinta do Lago – South Course was awarded ‘Europe’s Best Golf Course’. Dunas Golf Course in Terras da Comporta made a notable debut by winning both ‘Europe’s Best New Golf Course’ and ‘World’s Best New Golf Course’.
Apes Hills Barbados, renowned for its breathtaking coastal views and lush tropical ambiance, was recognized as the ‘World’s Best Eco-Friendly Golf Facility’. It also secured the title for ‘Caribbean’s Best Golf Course’. On the events front, LIV Golf Adelaide was celebrated as the ‘World’s Best Golf Event of the Year’, while LIV Golf was acknowledged with the ‘World’s Best Golf Innovation Award’.
In the country-specific categories, Trump International Golf Links proudly took home the title of ‘Scotland’s Best Golf Course’. Meanwhile, in England, The Belfry was named ‘England’s Best Golf Hotel’, and its renowned The Brabazon course was voted ‘England’s Best Golf Course’.
This year’s World Golf Awards was more than just an award ceremony. It was a global convergence of the golf industry’s luminaries, with pioneers and significant figures journeying from all corners of the globe. The award distribution at the Radisson Blu Hotel Yas Island was the culmination of a series of golf events, including the World Golf Awards Classic played at Yas Links Abu Dhabi, a landmark as the Middle East’s first true links course.

The awards were the result of a year-long quest to identify the globe’s most beloved golf tourism and hospitality brands. Votes were sourced from golf industry experts, media professionals, and the general public, with the top vote-getters in each category emerging as winners.
