Nobu Doha will debut in Doha, Qatar with a special event hosted by Chef Nobu and Academy Award winning actor Robert De Niro. Sip, savour and be seen at the star-studded evening commemorating Nobu’s momentous debut in Doha is on Saturday, November 7, 2015 from 7:00 to 11:00 pm.
“Qatar Airways is pleased to partner with Nobu for this event, and we welcome the new era of dining that the much loved restaurant brings to the city of Doha,” remarked His Excellency Mr. Akbar Al Baker, Group Chief Executive of Qatar Airways.
The Night with Nobu and De Niro is QAR 1,500 per person, and includes an extraordinary evening featuring exquisite pass-around Nobu cuisine, such as salmon new style sashimi and scallop foie gras, signature Nobu cocktails and live entertainment by celebrated Japanese taiko drum performers and international sensation DJ SOMA. The evening will also showcase a traditional Japanese sake ceremony, or Kagami Biraki, in which the lid of the sake barrel is broken open using a wooden mallet, representing an opening to harmony and good fortune.
Located at the water’s edge along the Four Seasons Hotel Doha’s private marina, Nobu Doha showcases Chef Matsuhisa’s innovative signature new-style Japanese cuisine complemented by an equally imaginative setting in the 26,000 square-foot (2,415 square metre) Rockwell Group-designed contemporary restaurant. Offering a truly exclusive culinary experience found nowhere else, the tri-level Nobu Doha is the largest of its kind in the world and is the only Nobu at a Four Seasons in the Middle East.
Chef Matsuhisa is renowned for his loyal clientele of the world’s most affluent celebrities and connoisseurs. Drawing inspiration from Matsuhisa’s classical training as a sushi chef in Tokyo, his life abroad in South America and his travels around the world, Nobu’s signature style of cuisine is internationally recognised as "new-style Japanese" fare. As a result, Nobu Doha’s menu is influenced by his extensive travels and international training, while it also incorporates new creations infusing local ingredients representative of the region.
