African Pathfinder is an independent, privately-owned destination management company, devoted to fully customized, hand-crafted and one-of-a-kind luxury trips and safaris to the magnificent regions of Southern and East Africa, the Indian Ocean and beyond.
It all began in September 2002 for this dynamic duo, sisters Dionne Bunyard and Gaenor Terblanche. African Pathfinder was formed out of their love for their home continent – Africa – and an overwhelming passion for travel and all the life lessons that are learnt through adventure. Since those humble beginnings they grew slowly, and carefully, and can proudly say that thanks to the unwavering support of their family, friends, team and many past clients, stand firm on solid foundations in the wonderful world of travel.
African Pathfinder is a small team of 6 women, all of whom add unique personalities, expertise and a personal love of Africa to their work. For them it is more than a job – they absolutely love what they do and bring passion to each and every tailor-made trip.
Collectively they boast over 40 years of first-hand experience in the industry; they walk the walk and talk the talk. A big part of the yearly planning includes regular educational and inspection trips to ensure they know exactly what destination and experience is best suited for each client. With their authenticity, originality, and honesty they go above and beyond to ensure the nth degree of attention to detail, and design a dream experience for every client’s transformational journey, whilst showing the utmost respect for sustainability and conservation of this precious continent.
