Delta is introducing its first-ever nonstop flights between Los Angeles (LAX) and Manila, adding the Philippines to Delta’s global network. Beginning March 28, 2027, Delta will become the only U.S. carrier to offer nonstop service between Los Angeles and Manila, further expanding Delta’s growing network from LAX aboard its Airbus A350-900.
The Philippines Department of Tourism welcomed Delta Air Lines’ announcement of this nonstop service and said that the new route will operate three times weekly from March 28 to June 6, 2027, and will expand to daily flights by June 7.
“Customers traveling through Los Angeles continue to benefit from Delta’s investments in LAX, including an expanding Asia-Pacific network and the opening of our second Delta One Lounge,” said Jeff Arinder, Delta’s Vice President of Network Planning. “The addition of Manila builds on the world-class travel experience our customers have come to expect from Delta while strengthening our position as LAX’s leading global carrier and premier West Coast hub.”
A premium journey begins at LAX
Delta One customers traveling to Manila can enjoy access to exclusive Delta One check-in and security and Delta’s two Delta One Lounges, including the newly-opened Terminal 2 location.
The recent opening makes LAX the first airport in Delta’s network to offer two Delta One Lounges. By 2028, Delta will offer four dedicated lounge spaces at LAX totalling more than 60,000 square feet and over 1,000 seats, alongside continued enhancements across Terminals 2 and 3.
Delta’s growing network from LAX
In the past year alone, Delta has expanded its LAX network with new service to Hong Kong, Melbourne and Chicago, returned to Shanghai, announced upcoming service to Vancouver, Newark and now Manila, and introduced its largest-ever schedule to Florida.
The addition of nonstop Los Angeles-Manila service marks another milestone in Delta’s long-term vision for Los Angeles, reinforcing the airline’s continued investment in LAX while expanding travel options across the Pacific.

As of July 18, the Department of Transport (DOT) recorded 707,394 visitors from the US, placing the country as its top source market for international visitors. The DOT said it expects the upcoming flights to ease travel for overseas Filipino workers (OFWs)and the Filipino-American community and open another gateway for American travellers to explore the Philippines.
“More flights and more choices are good for travellers. Greater competition can help make air travel more accessible and affordable for Filipinos,” Tourism Secretary Dita Angara-Mathay said.
“We want our airlines to grow and succeed. At the same time, we welcome more airlines and more routes because a bigger market benefits everyone — travellers, airlines, airports, tourism enterprises, and the economy,” she added.
Mathay said the DOT will continue working with local and international carriers to further expand connectivity and open new markets.
“For many Filipino-Americans, coming to the Philippines is more than a vacation. It is a journey home. The DOT will continue working with international and Philippine carriers to expand connectivity, open new markets, and make it easier for more people to experience the Philippines,” she said.
As the country’s primary international gateway, Manila is the starting point for journeys throughout the Philippines, opening the door to the country’s diverse landscapes, vibrant communities and world-renowned island destinations. Delta’s new nonstop service creates an important new link between Southern California and one of Asia’s fastest-growing markets.
