JetBlue (Nasdaq: JBLU) has broadened its horizons by inaugurating new nonstop flights between Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) and Amsterdam Airport Schiphol (AMS).
This expansion follows the successful launch of services from New York’s JFK Airport (JFK) to Amsterdam on August 29. From its focus city, Boston, JetBlue also provides daily services to London and has plans to launch services to Paris in 2024.
Dave Clark, JetBlue’s head of revenue and planning, expressed his enthusiasm about the expansion, stating, “Our recently launched Amsterdam service from New York has already been very successful, and we are thrilled to expand our low fares and great service to Amsterdam to our Boston customers.” He emphasized that the addition of nonstop services to Amsterdam would offer more options to business and leisure customers who have been dealing with high fares by legacy carriers for decades.
Boston destination partners have warmly welcomed this nonstop service from Amsterdam, acknowledging the Netherlands as a significant overseas source market. Annually, more than 30,000 visitors from the Netherlands contribute upwards of $35 million to the regional economy. Martha Sheridan, Meet Boston President & CEO, highlighted the importance of JetBlue’s expansion into key European markets for Boston to regain its market share of international visitors fully.
