Hyatt Hotels Corporation has officially announced its expansion into Australia with the introduction of the Hyatt House brand in Melbourne.
A Hyatt affiliate has entered into an agreement with Holder East Ltd, marking a significant milestone in Hyatt’s growth in the Asia Pacific region. The Hyatt House South Melbourne is set to open its doors in 2025, featuring 97 guestrooms and offering a unique, home-like experience to its guests.
The hotel is strategically located in the vibrant hub of South Melbourne, known for its multicultural food, shopping, and entertainment landmarks. It is in proximity to the South Melbourne Market, ANZAC station, the Royal Botanical gardens, the Australian Grand Prix racetrack in Albert Park, and the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, making it an ideal location for both leisure and business travelers.
Hyatt House hotels are designed for guests seeking spacious and well-equipped living accommodations for short or long-term stays. The brand emphasizes providing an experience that allows guests to enjoy home-like amenities, contemporary design, modern guestroom spaces, and a welcoming community atmosphere.
David Udell, group president, Asia Pacific, Hyatt, expressed pride in collaborating with Holder East Ltd for the first Hyatt House hotel in Australia. The hotel is part of the mixed-use Oasis Residences and is designed by the renowned Hayball architects. The guestrooms will offer a mix of studios and 1-bedroom residential-styled Kitchen Suites, equipped with kitchen islands, refrigerators, stovetops, spacious living rooms, plush beds, and modern bathrooms. The hotel will also feature the H Bar, an all-day lounge and a central gathering spot where guests can enjoy freshly made breakfast or unwind with a cocktail in the evening. Additional amenities include a 24/7 fitness room and communal spaces for working, socializing, or relaxing.
