JetBlue Launches Nonstop Flights from JFK to Belize City

JetBlue (NASDAQ: JBLU) marked a significant expansion in its flight services by launching the first nonstop flights from New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) to Philip S. W. Goldson International Airport (BZE) in Belize City, Belize.

The inaugural flight, which touched down in Belize this afternoon, is part of JetBlue’s initiative to connect New York with one of Central America’s most enchanting destinations.

Operating on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays, this service is the only nonstop connection from JFK to Belize City. It introduces JetBlue’s signature low fares and award-winning service to New Yorkers seeking direct access to Belize’s captivating landscapes and rich culture.

David Jehn, JetBlue’s vice president of network planning and airline partnerships, expressed excitement about the new route. “We’re thrilled to add Belize to our growing network. This new service underscores our commitment to expanding in Latin America and the Caribbean, offering more destination choices to our customers,” he stated.

The U.S. Ambassador to Belize, Michelle Kwan, highlighted the significance of American tourism in Belize. She noted that nearly a million Americans visit Belize annually, drawn by its stunning blue waters, sparkling beaches, and warm hospitality. Kwan emphasized that this new flight from JetBlue would further strengthen cultural connections and business opportunities between the two countries.

Belize’s Minister of Tourism and Diaspora Relations, Hon. Anthony Mahler, also welcomed the inaugural flight. “With JetBlue’s entry, we anticipate showcasing Belize’s diverse offerings – from Mayan caves and aquatic habitats to our lush national parks,” he said. Mahler is confident that the natural beauty, cultural richness, and the warmth of Belizeans will leave a lasting impression on visitors from New York.

Belize, known for its incredible biodiversity, offers mystical Mayan caves, wondrous aquatic habitats, and national parks teeming with wildlife and flora. It’s also home to over 185 miles of barrier reef, the largest in the northern hemisphere, making it a paradise for nature lovers, adventure seekers, and those looking for romantic getaways.

JetBlue’s new route is a strategic addition to its portfolio, bolstering its presence in Latin America and the Caribbean. With service to 26 countries in the region, the airline continues to focus on enhancing international markets. The Belize City route, operated using JetBlue’s Airbus A320 aircraft, will feature the airline’s acclaimed service, including the most legroom in coach, high-speed broadband Fly-Fi, complimentary snacks and drinks, and entertainment at every seat.

To celebrate the launch, JetBlue is offering a limited-time promotion of $119 one-way fares for flights between JFK and Belize City, available exclusively on jetblue.com. Customers booking directly through JetBlue’s website will enjoy the best fares, earn 2x TrueBlue points, and have access to various other benefits, including fare sales and promotions.

As JetBlue continues to grow in strategically under-served geographies, the introduction of the JFK-Belize City route further cements its position as a leader in the aviation industry, providing more choices and options for travelers.
