This facility, housed within the Ethiopian Cargo & Logistics complex, signifies a major step forward in the airline’s growth and technological advancement.
Located in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, the new e-commerce, mail, and courier logistics center is set to transform the city into a leading hub for cross-border e-commerce logistics in Africa and beyond. Ethiopian Airlines Group CEO, Mr. Mesfin Tasew, highlighted the facility’s role in revolutionizing African e-commerce logistics, thanks to its high-end technological infrastructure. The facility, which spans 15,000 square meters, has the capacity to handle 150,000 tons of cargo annually, representing a significant $55 million investment into the continent’s e-commerce sector.
Equipped with the latest technology, the e-commerce logistics center offers a wide range of services including consolidation, deconsolidation, sorting, repacking, and labeling. It also features advanced tracking and tracing capabilities, allowing customers to monitor their shipments in real-time.
