Tourism Growth Strategies Discussed at Caucasus Investment Forum

The Caucasus Investment Forum (CIF) successfully concluded in Grozny, held from July 15 to 17, 2024, at the Residence of the Head of the Chechen Republic and the Pavilion Stroykar (EXPO) exhibition center.

This year’s central theme, “Greater Caucasus – from Sea to Sea,” highlighted key sectors such as infrastructure, agro-industrial complex, tourism, and logistics.

The forum attracted over 2,000 guests from 33 countries and facilitated the signing of approximately 70 agreements, marking significant strides in economic cooperation and growth.

The plenary session on July 15, titled “The Greater Caucasus: From Sea to Sea,” was a focal point, emphasizing the importance of interregional cooperation in boosting the North Caucasus economy.

The CIF-2024 theme, “Regional Development and Interregional Interaction,” underscored the importance of human capital development. Discussions included career growth, youth communities, and entrepreneurship, reflecting a holistic approach to regional advancement.

Anton Kobyakov, Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation and Executive Secretary of the CIF Organizing Committee, highlighted the forum’s significance.

“In accordance with the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation, the Caucasus Investment Forum is held annually to promote sustainable socio-economic development in the North Caucasus Federal District. The region has shown dynamic growth in tourism, industry, and the agro-industrial complex, attracting new investment opportunities. Federal government representatives assessed regional progress, identified areas of maximum growth, and outlined plans for the district’s multilateral development,” Kobyakov stated.

Prominent industry leaders attended the forum, including Bugra Berberoglu, President & CEO of River Rock Hotels & Resorts.

Berberoglu engaged with key figures such as Elena Fedorova, Deputy General Director of Tourism of the Russian Federation, and Olimpiada Znamenskaya, General Director of United Consult Solution “NOMOS” and Director of Hotel Business Development of the Federation of Restaurateurs and Hoteliers of Russia.

The CIF has once again proven to be a vital platform for fostering interregional cooperation, attracting investment, and driving sustainable development in the North Caucasus. The outcomes of this year’s forum are expected to significantly impact the region’s economic landscape, paving the way for future growth and prosperity.
