Oman Government Partners with Sabre for Digital Transformation in Travel

The Oman government has taken a significant step towards enhancing its travel management operations by partnering with Sabre, a global leader in travel technology.

This collaboration aims to drive digital transformation across key government departments through a series of innovative training workshops. Sabre, which has been a trusted partner of the Omani government for 15 years, is providing advanced solutions to optimize travel management, streamline processes, and reduce costs.

Held at Sabre’s regional headquarters in Bahrain, these two-week training sessions are designed to upskill the travel management teams from the Diwan of Royal Court, Royal Court Affairs, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Participants are learning to use advanced tools such as Sabre 360 Graphical View and New Distribution Capability (NDC), focusing on improving operational efficiency and automating manual processes.

Ramzi Al Qassab, Managing Director, Sabre Travel Network Middle East, emphasized the importance of this partnership, saying, “We are proud to be partnering with the Omani government on this initiative, which is a testament to our commitment to empowering governments with advanced technology, tools, and training. By equipping the Omani government with the skills to leverage our advanced tools, we are not only enhancing their operational efficiency but also reinforcing the trust and reliability that have been the foundation of our partnership for over a decade.”

As part of Oman’s broader digital transformation initiative, the government is aiming to set new benchmarks in travel management efficiency. This collaboration also highlights Oman’s position as a regional leader in adopting cutting-edge solutions for government operations.

Salam Al Hadhrami, Director of the Travel Services Department, Royal Court Affairs, stated, “Sabre’s innovative solutions and unwavering support have been vital in ensuring our operations run smoothly and efficiently. These training sessions are more than workshops; they are key opportunities for our teams to gain insights and skills that will allow us to harness the latest technologies and best practices.”

The initiative also plays a crucial role in Oman’s strategic goal to achieve a digitally advanced government. Aisha Al Balushi, Head of Ticketing Department, Diwan of Royal Court, added, “These training sessions are pivotal in equipping our staff with the tools to automate manual processes, significantly enhancing efficiency and reducing time spent on routine tasks.”

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated the impact of this partnership, with Nawaf Al Sadri, Reservation and Tickets Officer Manager, commenting, “Our collaboration with Sabre plays a critical role in our strategy to support Oman’s digital transformation, enhancing efficiency across all government travel operations.”
