AJet Launches First Direct Flight from Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen to Geneva

Turkish Airlines’ new low-cost subsidiary, Ajet, has launched its first direct flight from Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport to Geneva, strengthening the air connectivity between Turkey and Switzerland.

AJet continues to expand its European network by offering new routes for both business and leisure travelers.

The inaugural flight from Sabiha Gökçen Airport to Geneva was celebrated with excitement among passengers and aviation officials. Initially, the new route will operate four times a week, providing passengers with convenient access to Switzerland from Istanbul’s Asian side. AJet aims to attract travelers seeking practical and affordable travel options to Europe.

AJet representatives highlighted that the launch of this route is expected to boost passenger traffic between Turkey and Switzerland. Direct flights from Sabiha Gökçen to Geneva offer significant time savings for travelers living on Istanbul’s Anatolian side, enhancing the airport’s role as a regional hub for international travel.

During the opening ceremony, AJet emphasized its strategy to strengthen its European operations in 2025. The Geneva route is particularly important for both Turkish citizens living in Switzerland and European tourists planning to visit Turkey. The carrier’s goal is to expand its footprint in Europe while maintaining competitive fares and convenient flight schedules.

Following the first flight, AJet executives said, “With the launch of our Geneva flights from Sabiha Gökçen, we are offering passengers a new direct travel experience. We believe this route will make a significant contribution to both tourism and business travel between the two countries.”

Geneva is one of Switzerland’s leading business and tourism hubs. Hosting international organizations such as the United Nations and the World Health Organization, the city also attracts visitors with its lakeside scenery, historic sites, and proximity to world-class ski resorts. The new AJet route creates new travel opportunities for Turkish passengers and encourages Swiss tourists to explore Turkey.

The Sabiha Gökçen–Geneva flights will initially operate four times per week, with plans to increase the frequency based on passenger demand. Tickets are available on AJet’s official website, mobile app, and authorized sales channels.

This new route is part of AJet’s 2025 strategy to expand its European network. By offering affordable fares and convenient direct flights, the airline continues to cater to both business travelers and vacationers. The Sabiha Gökçen–Geneva connection marks an important step in strengthening the air bridge between Turkey and Switzerland.
