José Manuel Pérez Alcantarilla wins the Superbike Open at the CEF InterOpen de Velocidad, held September 6–7 at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Cheste, Valencia.
Organized by the Federación de Motociclismo de la Comunitat Valenciana, the weekend event featured 16 motorcycle races across nine categories, drawing riders from Spain and abroad.
The Valencian rider secured victory in the main Superbike Open category with a last-lap overtake of fellow local competitor Yusef Soriano, who had led most of the race. The event included wins from several international riders, with notable performances across Superbike, Supersport, Moto5, and vintage categories.
Winners Across Nine Categories
In the Superbike Copa Promo 1000 class, Juan Antonio Ramírez won the second race after finishing behind Iván Regal, the winner of the first race. Sergi Martí completed the podium. Aridane Labrador and José Antonio Rabaneda placed second and third respectively in the Saturday event before Labrador retired on Sunday.
Ukraine’s Tymur Kostin dominated the Supersport Open and Copa Promo categories with a clean sweep of both races. The Yamaha rider led from pole position in the second race, finishing ahead of Javier Aparisi and Juan Esteban Rivera.
In the R4C Cup, Mario Ruiz took victory ahead of Gonzalo Guadaño and Izan Domínguez, all riding Kawasaki ZX400 motorcycles. Polish rider Andrej Kupczynski won both CEF Promo3 races, beating Marc Moñinos and American Mac Macclugage in the first, and Miguel Roig and Aitor González in the second.
Strong Performances in Moto5 and Handy Cup
Pablo Arnedo achieved a double victory in the CEF Moto5 category. He beat Irene Sandín and José Reyes in the first race and Ethan Botti and Benito Maldonado in the second.
The Handy Cup featured 13 riders with varying abilities competing in two races. Antonio Montoya won the second race, beating Carlos Blanco and Carlos Enrique Castellano, the latter of whom had won the first race. Montoya also recorded the fastest laps in both races riding a Yamaha R6, outperforming larger 1000cc bikes.
Vintage and Legends Categories
Saturday’s classic races saw Sergio Peraza and Sergio Fuertes claim victories in the Vintage category, while Rafa Uranga won in the Legends division.
The Circuit Ricardo Tormo will host further motorsport events later in September, including the Supercars race weekend on September 13–14 and the GT World Challenge powered by AWS on September 20–21. The latter will feature the debut of ROOW at the Valencia venue.
