Air Canada is reinforcing its largest hub at Toronto Pearson International Airport with new international services to South America, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Europe.
The expansion underscores Toronto’s position as a leading North American gateway with over 150 global connections.
Beginning in Winter 2025, Air Canada will launch routes from Toronto to Rio de Janeiro, Lima, Cartagena, and new leisure destinations in Mexico and the Caribbean.
In Summer 2026, the airline will restore direct services from Toronto to Shanghai and Budapest, while also adding flights to Prague.
Airport and airline alignment
Toronto Pearson President and CEO Deborah Flint welcomed the expansion, linking it to the airport’s Pearson LIFT infrastructure program: “Through LIFT we will elevate the passenger experience, strengthen global connectivity and local economic expansion; all made possible with our airline partners.”
Future fleet investments
Air Canada confirmed that its new Boeing 787-10 fleet will be based at Toronto to support long-haul growth, alongside upcoming Airbus A321XLR aircraft.
Mark Galardo, Executive Vice President, Chief Commercial Officer, and President of Cargo, said these investments would “unlock new travel opportunities at Toronto Pearson for our customers.”
