Strengthening Canada–Czech Republic Travel and Trade
Mark Galardo, Executive Vice President & Chief Commercial Officer and President, Cargo, highlighted the broader significance of this route: “Our flights connect two countries, facilitating travel, tourism and trade. We design routes like this one to appeal to our customers throughout our North American network, with convenient travel options at our Toronto hub.”
The Prague route caters to a mix of travelers: tourists exploring Prague’s architectural heritage and lively culture, Canadians with Czech roots visiting family, and European visitors heading to destinations across Canada. With its rich history, bohemian neighborhoods, and vibrant culinary scene, Prague remains one of Europe’s most photogenic and walkable capital cities. Meanwhile, Canadian tourism continues to attract Central European visitors interested in discovering the natural beauty and multicultural cities of North America.
Broader European Expansion
The Toronto–Prague service is part of a wider summer push by Air Canada to expand its European offerings. The airline recently launched:
- Montreal–Porto flights earlier this week
- Montreal–Naples in May
- Ottawa–London Heathrow in April
- Montreal–Edinburgh, scheduled to launch at the end of June
With these additions, Air Canada continues to grow its international network and reinforce its presence in emerging European markets. These routes serve both outbound Canadian travelers and inbound tourists and business passengers heading to Canada.
Prague joins a growing list of destinations accessible via direct flights from Air Canada’s Canadian hubs, offering travelers more flexibility and more inspiration for their next international adventure.
