Thai Airways (THAI) has unveiled its first Airbus A321neo, underscoring the airline’s commitment to strengthening its fleet capabilities and network strategy to enhance service potential and support continued growth in the Asia-Pacific market.
The Airbus A321neo is planned to operate regional routes across the Asia-Pacific network, with its inaugural commercial flight scheduled for 22 January 2026, operating the Bangkok–Singapore route.
This aircraft is the first of a total of 32 A321neo aircraft to be delivered to THAI by Airbus,and is among the first 10 aircraft that will enter into service under operating lease agreements with aircraft lessor AerCap.
Fleet modernisation
The Airbus A321neo is part of THAI’s fleet modernisation plan to support operations on short and medium-haul routes. The aircraft features continuously advanced aviation technologies, offering enhanced fuel efficiency, reduced carbon dioxide emissions, and lower noise levels compared with previous-generation aircraft.
These attributes support THAI’s sustainability integration efforts and long-term business strategy, as well as enhancing the passenger travel experience while improving fleet efficiency and advancing environmentally sustainable operations.
Seating layout
The cabin accommodates a total of 175 seats, comprising 16 Business Class seats (Royal Silk Class) and 159 Economy Class seats. The Royal Silk Class cabin is designed to deliver a widebody-like comfort experience, featuring fully flat beds with 180-degree recline and increased seat pitch.
Meanwhile, Economy Class features a total of 159 seats in a 3-3 configuration, ergonomically designed with a 10-degree recline, six-way adjustable headrests, and 13.3-inch touchscreen inflight entertainment displays.
Passenger convenience is increased with Airspace XL Bins, offering up to 40% more storage capacity, as well as Welcome Ceiling and Cabin Mood Lighting systems to create a pleasant atmosphere throughout the journey.
New aircraft to start service from 22 January on Bangkok-Singapore route
Thai Airways plans to introduce its first Airbus A321neo into regular service, with operations scheduled between 22 January and 28 March 2026 on the following routes. All times are local.
- Bangkok – Singapore Departure 11:30 – 14:50 hrs. (inaugural flight)
- Singapore – Bangkok Departure 15:55 – 17:15 hrs.
- Bangkok – Phuket Departure 18:30 – 20:00 hrs.
- Phuket – Bangkok Departure 20:40 – 22:15 hrs.
- Bangkok – Delhi Departure 23:25 – 02:20 hrs. (Next day)
- Delhi – Bangkok Departure 03:30 – 09:00 hrs.
